DAVID JOL

David Jol is an entertainment, business, and video game lawyer who advises developers, publishers, producers, creators, and entrepreneurs. He assists his clients in financing, contract negotiation, intellectual property management, and general corporate and employment matters.

David has a background working in tech and software and has guided startups in their journey from incorporation through funding rounds to exit. He has worked with businesses that range from large global private equity firms to small-team/solo indie game developers and filmmakers.

David’s passion for his work lies in getting to know his clients and learning how he can best help them to accomplish their goals. Working closely with anyone requires trust, and David believes that a lawyer earns and maintains that trust with good communication and excellent work. He knows that whatever he and you are trying to accomplish, it has the best chance to succeed if you can trust and rely on one another.

Prior to his legal career, David studied creative writing and spent half a decade living and working in various parts of the world: from India and Southeast Asia to Central and South America. He brings an array of real-life experience to his legal work that make him an intuitive problem solver, clever strategist and, perhaps most importantly, a pleasure to work with.

In his free time, David likes to surf, snowboard, canoe, watch and play sports, and, when time permits, play video games and board games.
